If youre still waiting to get into the Fortnite beta on Android, now you can finally play the battle royale game on your phone. Today Epic announced that the Android version of the game is open to everyone with a compatible device, so you no longer require an invite to play. (You can find a list of supported Android phones on Epics site.) Fortnite for Android first launched back in August exclusively for Samsung Galaxy devices, before opening up to more smartphones a few days later. Unlike most Android games, it has its own installer, so you wont find it in the Google Play store. You can find step-by-step instructions for getting it up and running right here — though if youre using an older phone, dont expect Fortnite to look amazing.
Until now, youve needed an invite. So far, if you've wanted to get your hands on the Fortnite Android beta, you've had to sign up for an invitation. But Epic Games has now opened the beta up to everyone, no invite required. Epic says it's best if your device is running Android 8.0 or later, otherwise you'll likely run into performance issues. As for which phone you'll need, you can check out a list of supported devices here. It includes Google's Pixel line, the Essential Phone, the Razer Phone and a number of others.
